In 1968 this designer arrived in Paris and she started her ready to wear revolution in the world of fashion. Sonia also created sweaters that are closer to the body, like no one else did! In 1972 in Women’s Wear Daily, she was declared “Queen of Knits” and she became an international designer.
This creative and very talented designer says that a woman should always be seductive, eccentric and mysterious, dressed up in her own style. She designed clothes for women who enjoyed in freedom, lovers, explorers and nomads. Her psychology is called “la Démode” or deconstruction and fashion. Her brand Rykiel is led by Sonia and Nathalie (her daughter). In 1989 Nathalie launched the Eykiel Enfant collection. In 1995, Nathalie became managing and artistic director and she led the fashion house with broader vision and goals. In 2009, she collaborated with H&M and she inducted Lola, her daughter in the business and world of fashion.
